Not all oral appliances are created equal. Ours are custom-designed using advanced diagnostics and Gneuromuscular principles to support not just breathing, but comfort, muscle balance, and long-term jaw stability. We use pharyngometry to find the jaw position that best opens the airway, and rhinometry to assess nasal airflow and guide next steps if obstruction is present. With muscle relaxation using ULF-TENS and precise design, your appliance feels like a natural extension of your body. We also bill through medical insurance—offering comprehensive care that goes far beyond what most dental offices provide.

Sleep Tests

If we suspect sleep-disordered breathing, we’ll connect you with a board-certified sleep physician for a virtual consultation. From there, a home sleep test will be mailed directly to you, allowing you to complete the assessment comfortably in your own bed. After the test, you’ll review the results with the doctor via a telemedicine appointment. This streamlined process is billed through medical insurance, and our office is contracted with several major providers to help make care as accessible and affordable as possible.

Pharyngometry

Pharyngometry

Pharyngometry

Pharyngometry is one of the advanced diagnostic tools used in the creation of sleep appliances, such as mandibular advancement devices (MADs). Pharyngometry measures the size and shape of the airway from the oral cavity to the trachea, providing detailed information about any obstructions or constrictions that may affect breathing during sleep.

Myofunctional Therapy & Oralase

Myofunctional Therapy & Oralase

Myofunctional Therapy & Oralase

Airway issues often stem from poor muscle tone and dysfunctional habits like mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, or improper swallowing. Myofunctional therapy helps retrain the oral and facial muscles—especially the tongue—to rest in the proper position, support nasal breathing, and maintain an open airway during sleep. To accelerate results, we pair this with Oralase, a gentle, non-invasive laser treatment that releases tight tissues, improves circulation, and enhances muscle responsiveness. Together, these therapies support healthier breathing patterns, improve sleep quality, and increase the comfort and effectiveness of oral appliances like mandibular advancement devices.

Naturopathic/Functional Lifestyle Assessment

Naturopathic/Functional Lifestyle Assessment

Naturopathic/Functional Lifestyle Assessment

Sleep apnea and airway dysfunction are often influenced by more than just anatomy. Through a naturopathic and functional lifestyle assessment, we evaluate factors that can contribute to poor sleep and airway inflammation, including nutrition, metabolic health, nervous system balance, environmental exposures, and daily habits. By identifying underlying contributors such as inflammation, stress, nutrient deficiencies, or lifestyle patterns that impact breathing and sleep quality, we can create personalized strategies that support airway health and improve overall sleep. This whole-body approach helps optimize treatment outcomes and supports long-term wellness alongside airway and dental therapies.

NaseLase

NaseLase

NaseLase

NaseLase is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to improve nasal breathing by addressing structural and inflammatory causes of nasal obstruction, including enlarged turbinates and nasal valve collapse. Using advanced Fotona laser technology, NaseLase gently stimulates tissue remodeling and tightening within the nasal passages, helping to reduce turbinate swelling and support the stability of the nasal valve area. By improving airflow through the nose, this treatment can make breathing easier both during the day and at night. NaseLase is a quick, comfortable procedure that can be performed in the office and may be used alone or as part of a comprehensive airway treatment plan to support healthy nasal function.

Orthodontic Expansion

Orthodontic Expansion

Orthodontic Expansion

Orthodontic expansion isn’t just for straightening teeth—it’s a powerful tool for improving airway health. By widening the upper jaw, especially in growing children, we can increase nasal airway space and reduce the risk of mouth breathing, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnea. This type of expansion supports better oxygen flow during sleep, leading to more restful nights and improved long-term health. It’s a foundational part of our airway-centered approach to care.

VagusLase®

VagusLase®

VagusLase®

VagusLase® is a gentle, non-invasive laser therapy designed to support the autonomic nervous system by stimulating pathways associated with the vagus nerve. Using specific wavelengths of light, VagusLase aims to promote parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) activity, helping the body shift away from chronic stress and toward a more balanced physiologic state. By supporting nervous system regulation, VagusLase may help improve resilience, relaxation, sleep quality, recovery, and overall well-being. Treatments are comfortable, require no downtime, and can be incorporated into a comprehensive approach to airway, TMJ, and whole-body health.

FAQs

Have questions? We have answers.

What makes your snore guard different from others?

Not all oral appliances are created equal. At our office, we go beyond the standard approach by using advanced diagnostic tools—like pharyngometry and rhinometry—to map your airway and determine the most effective jaw position for breathing. We also use TENS technology and Gneuromuscular (GNM) principles to ensure your muscles are relaxed and your bite is balanced before your appliance is even made.

Your MAD is custom-crafted for you—designed for comfort, stability, and long-term effectiveness. We also bill through medical insurance and coordinate care with sleep physicians when needed. Our goal isn’t just to reduce snoring—it’s to help you sleep better, breathe better, and protect your airway and joint health for years to come.

Why is pharyngometry and rhinometry important?

These tools use sound waves to measure your airway volume and identify where it collapses. This lets us see—before treatment—whether a jaw adjustment will improve your breathing.

Is this covered by insurance?

In many cases, yes. We partner with a third-party billing provider to submit claims through your medical insurance, making it easier for you to access coverage for sleep appliances and related care. We're also proud to be partnered with the VA and are currently working toward Medicare approval. Most dental offices are cash-pay only—we help you make the most of your benefits whenever possible.

What our patients say

Don’t just take our word for it! Read reviews from patients we’ve helped, and see for yourself what’s possible at O2dontics.

I have recently finished the first stage on of my orthodontic treatment from Dr. Taylor. Not only is the pain in my jaw gone, the pain in my back is also gone and I can finally breathe through my nose.

I went to 2 different doctors to treat my TMJD before I was lucky enough to find Dr. Taylor. Because I always listened to her and wore my appliance, things went quickly and smoothly. Dr. Taylor is an expert in orthodontics and incredibly adaptable to new situations. She was able to modify my treatment plan gracefully as circumstances changed—something you really need when moving teeth around (because they are an important structural component in our bodies.

Jake S.

Dr. Taylor and her staff are great. She really knows how to treat TMJ and bite issues. I really appreciate her attention to detail and listening to my concerns and setting up a very clear plan.

Ellie H.

I’ve had a really great experience so far working with Dr. Taylor and her team on correcting my TMJ dysfunction and crossbite. I’ve turned out to be a more difficult case due to my joint hypermobility and I have been impressed with the care and consideration Dr. Taylor takes with regard to modifying my treatment plan when needed. Dr. Taylor and her team are extremely responsive, booking me in for appointments on short notice, calling to check in on me. Dr. Taylor understands how interconnected jaw issues can be with the rest of the body and due to her treatment over the past year my neck pain has reduced by ~70% and I no longer have clicking when turning my head.

Iris R.
